Wexford's records

These are the only photos of Wexford, all taken by the state, followed by the only state medical records, besides the autopsy, that were submitted. The 11/6/19 exam describes this cat with a body condition score of 2. That is practically emaciated. We can't see all of him in these photos, but I think you can see enough to tell he isn't even close to thin. He is also described with "eyes thick purulent discharge" when it is only the right eye that is affected. It goes on to describe "mild crust at medial canthus" and "mild crust at naves" and "moderate debris" in the ears. So his ears are a little dirty and his right eye is having an episode (treatment had been started at home), but the rest of him looks perfectly normal. I promise you he wasn't the least bit miserable at home, not like he looks in these photos. He was a happy cat hanging out with his buddies. Even with the flare up in his eye, he didn't act any differently at home. I would expect getting chased, net captured by strangers, boxed, caged and missing his usual eye treatment to immediately exacerbate his eye condition as well. His last medical record available to me was dated 11/25/19, he was found dead in cage and his autopsy was performed on 5/1/20.

Wexford

Wexford's triage record from 11/5/19. His behavior is noted as feral. He is not the least bit feral.

Wexford Triage

As described in the article Faulty Interpretations Lead to Wrong Conclusions, there are two copies of the 11/6/19 exam forms, one is incomplete and one is the original. Wexford was missing that partially completed form, so they inserted this note into his records.

Wexford Exam

Wexford's exam record from 11/6/19. There is no indication of behavior or age on this form. There is a note "overall - thin." Are we looking at the same cat? It also says, "(notes repeated on rear)," but I never saw any additional notes.

Wexford Exam

Wexford's Falls Road record from 11/8/19 and 11/25/19 visits. Even on this one they say his body condition is thin. Then on 11/25, 17 days or over two weeks later, he has lost weight. A cat, two weeks in state custody, who is described by the state as thin, and is probably kept in a cage with no exercise, has lost weight in their care. How do you explain that in a positive light?
