Turlough's records

Turlough is a gorgeous 3-year-old red and white male with medium length hair. He was quite shy and though I attempted to give him attention, he only required it on his own terms. He has been labeled by his new caretakers as fearful. Like the other males, I would not expect him to make it out of a shelter alive. Thankfully, he is safe and well at home. He is still a little shy, but is more amenable to attention now.

I could not identify him based on the state's records and specifically looked for him during the January walk-through and could not find him. He was not identified until I received the final shelter photos. Note in these photos that his left eye is still irritated and needs treatment. This is after he's received multiple treatments in the care of the state. This cat has not required treatment at home.

Turlough Triage

As described in the article Faulty Interpretations Lead to Wrong Conclusions, there are two copies of the 11/6/19 exam forms, one is incomplete and one is the original. This is the incomplete version.

Turlough Exam Incomplete

This is the completed 11/6/19 exam form. Notice how this exam form is more complete than others and has boxes checked and items circled. Also, why was it orginally written for C36, then crossed out? How did that happen? Is any of the information in the form for C36 and not C59?

Turlough Exam

Turlough's Falls Road record from 11/12/19 with notes from 11/25/19 and 12/6/19. It looks like he only went to the veterinary on 11/12/19. At that time, seven days into custody and after supposedly being treated with Convenia, fluids, Eradimite, azithromycin and tobramycin, he has conjunctivitis and nasal discharge. This doesn't make sense. If he actually had symptoms of an upper respiratory infection, azithromycin works very well to clear that up. This is another case where we are left to wonder if veterinary orders from 11/6 were actually carried out. Maybe he never had symptoms either, which is what my records say, but the stress of the state's actions activated the virus. He is again given Convenia which stays in the body for 65 days, even though the Convenia given seven days prior didn't work. Of course, that wouldn't be a concern if he didn't actually have symptoms or get Convenia seven days prior. Note that Turlough is one of the cats afflicted with bloody diarrhea while under the care of the state and he appears to come down with it on 12/6/19, 31 days into custody. Who diagnosed him on that date? Who decided to treat him with Metronidazole Gourmeds?
