From Farm to MarketWhere Milk Comes FromCartoon of cow, sheep, goat, camel, and buffalo

Introduction

Most of us know the milk we buy in the store comes from a cow. But did you know many people also drink milk that comes from sheep, goats, and camels? Camels? Why yes! A tribe in the north of Kenya, called the Rendille, virtually live on camel's milk, and sheep's milk creates the famous Roquefort cheese of France. Buffalo and yaks can also be a source of milk for drinking. Milk is totally cool. No kidding! In this farm to market, we'll follow the trail of cow's milk from the farm to the grocer's shelf. This is an adventure!
